Thorlabs' Self-Centering Lens Mounts feature three spring-loaded fingers that firmly grip optics ranging from Ø0.15" (3.8 mm) to Ø1.77" (45.0 mm) or Ø3.00 (76.2 mm), depending on the mount (see below for details). The lens mount fingers are easily opened with one hand by pinching the actuator tabs between the thumb and forefinger. The lens is simply held between the mounting fingers as the actuator tabs are released. The spring-loaded fingers firmly grip the optic while nested ring design centers it.
These mounts feature a bottom-located 8-32 (M4 x 0.7) tapped hole for direct fastening to our Ø1/2" Posts. The SCL60CA and SCL60C/M mounts are also compatible with our 60 mm Cage System.

(posted 2024-03-21 02:33:37.0) Thank you for contacting Thorlabs. The set screws holding the Delrin fingers in place on the SCL04/M are 2-56 threaded and 1/4" long. David Sommitz

(posted 2021-04-30 12:01:24.223) What solution did you have for falsheheen, when they asked about mounts for 120 mm diameter? YLohia
(posted 2021-04-30 02:09:49.0) Thank you for contacting Thorlabs. No solution was found. The largest self-centering lens mount we currently offer is for optics that are up to 76.2 mm OD, part number SCL04. We have some fixed mounts for lenses up to 100 mm OD, but unfortunately, 120 mm is too large for our mounts. Thibault Clément
 (posted 2021-04-26 09:13:08.143) Hello,
I need to know material of your product. In particular, if your Self-Centering Lens Mount are electrical conductor?
Best regards,
Clément YLohia
(posted 2021-04-26 01:55:32.0) Hello Clément, the fingers that hold the optic are made of Delrin® and the body of the mount is made of 6061-T6 anodized aluminum. The former is an acetal homopolymer, which makes it a good electrical insulator. falsheheen

(posted 2009-07-22 18:20:06.0) A reply from Jens at Thorlabs: thanks a lot for this suggestion. We are discussing a product like that internally for some time already and I will add this request to make sure the solution is being offered as soon as possible. I will also take a note so that we contact you as soon as a prototype is available. John_R_Moore
(posted 2009-07-22 17:20:51.0) I would really like to see a self-centered spring action optical mounting design that could be implemented directly into a series of lens tubes. Something very similar to your adjustable iris diaphrams that I can install between your 1" lens tubes. Just a thought. I am continuously impressed by the versatility and improvements that I continuously see in the thorlabs line up. Thanks for your continued effort towards quality and customer satisfaction.
Cheers,
