Thorlabs' OEM Flange to SM Thread Adapters allow users to integrate SM-threaded components into existing systems. These adapters can be mounted to any device or enclosure using four 4-40 (M3) screws (not included). The mounting holes are arranged in a square; see the table to the right for the hole spacing on each adapter. The hole spacing on the SM1A53 also allows it to serve as an interface between custom-built setups with an SM1-threaded port and some Nikon Eclipse Ti nosepieces. Once mounted, any compatible SM-threaded components (such as lens tubes and accessories) may be directly mounted to the adapter.

While this is not something we currently offer as a catalog solution, I can certainly pass along your request to our design engineers through our internal suggestion forum. We would currently suggest using the stock SM2F1 along with an SM2 coupler such as SM2T2. This would give you the external threads you need. I have also reached out to you directly to discuss the feasibility of a custom part. |

The SM1F2 Adapter with External Threads
- Compatible with SM1-Threaded (1.035"-40) Components
- Internal or External Threading
- SM1A53 Low Profile Adapter for Nikon Nosepieces
The SM1F1 Flange to SM1 Adapter features 0.39" (10 mm) of internal SM1 threading, while the SM1A53 has a lower profile with 0.22" (5.6 mm) of internal SM1 threading. Alternatively, the SM1F2 has 0.12" (3.0 mm) of external SM1 threading for compatibility with any internally SM1-threaded component. The SM1F2 also has 0.14" (3.56 mm) of internal SM1 threading, accessible from the back.
The mounting holes on the SM1F1 and SM1F2 are 1.06" (26.9 mm) apart, while the mounting holes of the SM1A53 are 1.02" (26.0 mm) apart. Each adapter can be secured to a device or enclosure using four 4-40 (M3) screws.
