These ST/PC (Straight Tip/Physical Contact) multimode connectors each have a bayonet-style mount that allows for quick connects and disconnects. Our multimode connectors with a ceramic ferrules have bores from Ø127 µm to Ø440 µm, while our multimode connectors with stainless steel ferrules have bores from Ø144 µm to Ø1120 µm. To improve fiber-to-fiber contact, the tips of the ferrules are pre-radiused.
The connectors are packaged with a connector cap and two strain relief boots: one for Ø900 µm tubing and one for Ø3.0 mm tubing. In addition to the included boots, we offer a boot and crimp sleeve for Ø2 mm tubing (sold below), as well as stainless steel sleeves designed for mating connectors to our stainless steel tubing.
Custom-drilled connectors are available on any stainless steel ferrule; please contact Tech Sales for custom requests.
As an alternative to buying and assembling separate optical fiber, connectors, and furcation tubing, Thorlabs also offers custom pre-built patch cables using the connectors sold on this page. See our Custom Fiber Patch Cable Configurator to place an order.

(posted 2019-08-09 16:58:06.58) I need to reconnectorize a multimode fiber with an ST-type connector (I tripped over the fiber and it broke). I wonder if someone at Thorlabs could reconnectorize it for me?
Please let me know!
Best wishes,
Emma nbayconich
(posted 2019-08-12 10:10:16.0) Thank you for contacting Thorlabs. We can re-connectorize our fibers, I will reach out to you directly to discuss your application. |

- Strain Relief Boots and Crimp Sleeves for Ø2 mm Tubing (25 Pack)
- CAPF Dust Cap for Ø2.5 mm Ferrules (25 Pack)
Thorlabs offers strain relief boots and dust caps that can be purchased separately from our fiber connectors. The black strain relief boots sold here are compatible with ST®* connectors and Ø2 mm furcation tubing (our stock connectors do not include a boot compatible with Ø2 mm tubing).
The CAPF Dust Cap is for use with FC connectors or any Ø2.5 mm ferrule. Dirt on the fiber tip can result in permanent damage to the fiber connector, which can increase coupling losses or create undesirable mode structures in the output light. To prevent damaging the connectorized fiber, inspect it before each use, clean it when necessary, and use a fiber connector cap to protect the end face of the connectorized fiber when it is not in use. To aid in inspecting and cleaning connectorized fiber, we offer a selection of inspection tools, as well as fiber optic cleaning products.
